I also attempted to use the free program mUSBfixer, and it claimed to successfullyįormat the drive. I have also tried an I/O test on a Linux Based OS to see if it could read or write anything, but the program was giving me several "I/O" errors related to the device during the test.
Attempting to repair the drive using Window's built in repair tool also gives me the write-protected error. Of the options except for Open, Explore, and Properties grayed out. That says, "The file or directory is corrupt and unreadable." I attempted to remove the write the protection and reformat VIA the Command Prompt and the Disk Management, but Command Prompt says that the drive is write protected, while Disk Management has all Attempting to open any of the contents simply shows an error But when I attempt to do ANYTHING with the contents, it gives me an error stating that the drive is write-protected.
